We are getting about half way through our first bedroom in our house. If you have been watching our Instagram stories you know it took us a long time to put up the beams and we still have more to do. But just getting those beams up has also given us much hope and we can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

So we have been looking for inspiration for the other spare room we have in our house. Now these two rooms are very small just 12ft by 12ft! The other room we are storing our guest bed, sewing machine, games, and general office things. The closet for the bedroom is only 2 feet wide. Like super tiny just enough to store a few board games and half our coats! So we really need more storage.

The good news is when we were looking for bedroom storage inspiration we came across lots of bedrooms with cabinets flanking the bed. Making it nice and cozy and utilizing the space better. The other problem in this room is that the window is not centered and putting cabinets on the side of the wall that has the most space is one of our favorite things to do. It’s a great way to make the window look centered but no moving it! Best of both worlds.

We had also thought of making the bed a Murphy bed but Theo kindly told me the warranty on our bed our be invalid if we were to store it on it’s side. So sounds like that won’t be happening. We might store the bed somewhere else and that is why we included some inspiration from photos that have similar cabinets but are using them as an office. So either a bed or a table could be used! Win win. Seriously this is the best news we have had in a long time.

We can’t wait to start on this next project and hope you are too! Let us know what you think or if you have any other ideas besides a Murphy bed. We also thought of a daybed but don’t have a smaller bed and don’t really want to buy one, haha. I am sure you can relate.
