We are Jaz & Theo! We a wedding photography team in El Paso, here to serve our couples and photographers. We enjoy traveling, making friends, wearing cute outfits (including hats), and snuggling together often.
Wow time has gone by fast and it’s already time for another bad spot great shot challenge. This was a hard session not just because it wasn’t the prettiest of places but also because we didn’t feel the safest. Theo wanted to leave so badly but he was the one the choose the spot so we did it! It was a nice fall day and we luckily had some nice cloud coverage. We were only shooting for an hour and we had at least 5 people walk by and give us odd looks. And not to mention the cars that drove by real slow with loud music. We sure did stand out.
I actually think the hardest place was the first location. Right in front of a school with a huge chain link fence and an ugly playground. The ally was not much better with an ugly chain link fence and dilapidated houses and the old shoe repair building. We didn’t show it in the video but there was a dead rotting cat! Jaz had nightmares from it! And there were two dogs in one of the backyards that we were right next two that barked at us a bit. So we tried not to get too close. We loved the photos in the ally the most and if it was up to us we would have just kept taking photos there. Once you find great light and have a good background you take advantage out of it as much as you can.
Then we decided to take some photos in front of the shoe repair building. The yellow wall wasn’t as appealing as we hoped it would be but don’t think it was bad. A neutral plain background is better than a horrible one. We of course still had challenges with this location. There were not cute doors and huge awful painted signs about the business up on the wall. And some trash too. We hope you guy enjoy this installation and let us know if there is anything we can do better, or location ideas!
